The oligarchs rivalling for control of Armenia would be all well aware of this. Some will still feel they can personally gain by wrecking their own country.
Such is the blind greed of the wealthiest in most societies - huge wealth and power actually breed even higher levels of greed for its own sake. It’s for that reason that societies should limit accumulation of extreme wealth and power: it’s basically a corrosive force in society, a type of cancer.
The masses of Armenia are the ne who need the messaging being given here, as they are the ones with everything to lose and little to gain, in any misdeeds allowed here.
You have 2 friends, there's been ups and downs over the years, you don't really trust them, with reason, they can be really annoying, but sometimes they've also stood by you in times of need, and they can also be a little pushy, a bit bossy, and you wish you had 'better' friends than those, tbh.
And then one day a really NICE person rolls up, who REALLY wants to be your friend, they're relatively wealthy, and generous, and they promise to be your best friend forever. Woahhh, it's everything you ever wanted.
And they don't want anything in return. Well, OK, just one SMALL thing, a nothing, really.
To earn this zenith of Friendship, to show you really DO want it, if you could just strap on a suicide vest and go blow yourself up while meeting one of both of those now ex-friends, well, that would really do the trick for them.
You'd have to be insane to turn down an opportunity like that, wouldn't you??
The NICE person has no friends but it can identify stupid, greedy and extremeyl shortsighted opportunists like Pashinyan and unfortunately the world is full of Pashinyans, especially in countries like Armenia. Perhaps many of its people now realise just how well of they were when they were part of the USSR?
TBF, the majority of the USSR's citizens didn't want it to be collapsed as it was, and voted to remain in it at high %s - but the US patsy Yeltsin followed his Yankee orders to the letter.
Even by the early 90s, the older people in Eastern Europe were greatly missing the Soviet system, and that has only grown.
Armenia has been off the radar for a bit, but over the past months I wondered what Pashinyan's goals were as he cosied up to the dying carcass that is the EU. Russia is Armenia's biggest trading partner. Russia has saved Armenia's sorry ass more than once and is likely the final back stop against further attritional losses to Azerbaijan and Turkey. Pashinyan is just too much stupidity locked up in one place IMO.
Thank you for letting me listen in on this discussion. As a citizen of the U.S. of Corruption, I felt frustrated and perplexed when I was unable to do my bit for my country by teaching world history and U.S. history to high schoolers. I did not have "an outstanding disposition". Apparently, only non-reading football and basketball coaches have the correct qualifications to teach history and economics in the U.S. I can't imagine how frustrating to both of you it must be to dedicate as many years of research, analysis, writing teaching, etc ...just to have the rug pulled out from under you. It is happening here too, of course. Thank you for your service.

Pashinyan, like B'Liar, Kid Starver, Sholtz, anyone in Ukraine, is just a CIA puppet. Not just FUNDED by the CIA, but an actual operative.
It won't be him on the front-lines, just conscripts as in Ukraine. And he'll be well rewarded with homes, just like Voldemort Z.
B'Liar took the UK into war in Iraq in the teeth of MASSIVE Public opposition. Now he's the richest "self-made" UK ex-PM in British history.
It was only the grunts in the army that died - and the 1.5m - 2m Iraqis. Nobody IMPORTANT, if you see what I mean.
B'Liar rarely steps foot inside the UK, and never on the streets.
And so it goes.
