Love him or hate him, there was no Russia/Ukraine war when Trump was president. But when Biden was president, too much loose talk about Ukraine becoming a NATO member. That was the last straw for Russia. This was a proxy war doomed to failure from the jump, and thousands of Russians and Ukrainians have been killed because of it.
The absolute final straw was Kiev demanding nukes while still demanding the return of Crimea.
And moving its forces into position for an assault on the Donbas defenders.
Trump did LOTS to ramp up tension with Russia, Russian patience became legendary during this period. Russia also moved to prepare for a tidal wave of sanctions - and became close to Iran for their advice.
"This was a proxy war doomed to failure from the jump, and thousands of Russians and Ukrainians have been killed because of it."
Trump's withdrawal from the INF Treaty in 2019 was an extremely provocative action against Russia, the reddest of red flags. The US-UK program to disintegrate and loot Russia did not end when Putin threw out the West's vultures and cracked down on Russia's oligarchs in the early 2000's. That program has been pursued in earnest by every US president (including Trump) and European leader, as mandated by the Western bankster elites. NATO represents merely the face of the military aggression, the tip of the spear so to speak.
You are delusional. Trump spent his first term as a deep state bitch and he is continuing to do exactly the same. You MAGA-Cultists spend all your free time online making excuses for Trump. If you got paid for it you would be rich. Someone asked me if I wanted to bet on how long MAGA-Cultists will play 'Blame It On Biden for'. My money is on forever.

*Trump’s Threats Against Iran Exposes US Continuity of Agenda*
.
"US President Donald Trump has recently sent a “letter” to Iran’s leadership providing it with a two-month deadline regarding a new “nuclear deal” – this after President Trump during his first term in office in 2018 unilaterally and baselessly withdrew from the previous Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and as the US builds up military forces as a direct threat to Iran’s government.
.
While President Trump has suggested drastic measures may be applied if Iran doesn’t meet the deadline, neither he nor anyone in his administration has explained under what authority the US has created this deadline, with what authority it intends to enforce it with, or how the threat of this war of aggression differs from the long line of US wars of aggression President Trump campaigned for office vowing to end.
.
The Trump administration is posing as if its primary motivation is to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons as part of a wider narrative regarding US leadership in maintaining peace and stability worldwide. In reality, this most recent escalation is part of a wider US policy spanning multiple presidential administrations aimed at dismantling Iran’s network of allies across the region, isolating Iran, before pursuing regime change operations against Iran itself.
With the removal of a sovereign Iran in the Middle East, the US can advance a decades-spanning agenda of establishing and maintaining primacy both over the Middle East and well beyond it – an agenda that has served in actuality as the single greatest threat to peace and stability worldwide.

There's more evidence that Trump is just the latest Deepstate imperialism puppet. Unlike you, I have no skin in the game. Who wins wars, who is POTUS makes no difference to me and I'm not political nor an American. I have not see any evidence to date that indicates Trump is seeking peace anywhere in the world or at home. I don't care what words come out of his mouth - that's for hopey voters - I go strictly by his actions. I'm actually LMAO watching Musk and his cancel culture crew tear down the US - the US may have corrupt and incompetent bureaucracies, but simply blowing things up does not lead to better outcomes. The US empire and home nation are imploding. I've read many serious science based reports on American collapse and they all predict dates between 2030-2050 - it looks like Trump may bring it forward by a few years. I really really glad I am not American and/or live in the US.
You believed Trump's campaign promises/lies because you wanted and/or needed to and now to maintain you must bend reality to continue on with your worldview. Didn't your parents tell that no politician in history has kept their campaign promises? You don't exactly look like a spring chicken either so you can't use youth to explain away your gullibility. I doubt you will find any non MAGA-Cultists who would say Trump is seeking peace. Simple because all the evidence points to the opposite.
No thanks. You are a full time Trump apologist and idiot. The only thing your article would be useful for would be to print it off and use it for ass-wipe.
Mr.Martyanov is very sharp but sometimes looking forward a little bit too far forward. There is probably no way for Ukraine to win this military conflict, but how the affairs are settled politically remains to be seen. If Russia is forced to swallow Galicia (Russia does not want that piece but situations can force Russia's hand,) there will be serious pacification work to do. Yes, we all know that a sudden collapse can happen as in WW1, but until that happens, nobody knows for sure. Complacency is very dangerous at this stage, just like in November 1944, when many Americans from generals to privates imagined some of them could be at home on Christmas.
What do you offer as commentary? A rebuttal with factual grounds for your claims? No. Just the stalest most cliche response ever: trying to attack the man instead of what he said.

NATO is responsible for this war. I’ve written a couple of posts about it, check them out on my Substack if you’re interested.

Thank heaven we have people like Glann that keep the truth alive.

Fascinating overview, the new Russian attitude to Europeans is especially interesting.
Typo: causality/ casualty
Why is not you or Martyanov living in Russia? Both are praising Russia as a great country so why don’t you live there?
He made his points. He has something to say

Just stop. Stale and tired.
The way that westward movement is going in the east, the Russians might be at the Dnieper by 2028
A West Point graduate that doesn't understand attritional warfare?
With graduates like that it's just as well the US military is back at home hiding under their beds.
Excellent thumbnail graphic. One can see the improvement made over time.
