Regarding the western MSM, I just put this point of detail forward:

Until about a month ago the UK Financial Times published a daily update on the Ykraine War titled:

“ Mapping Ukraine’s counter-offensive against Russia: latest updates”

This abruptly changed to:

“Ukraine’s battle against Russia in maps: latest updates - a visual update”

This was on the front page daily. It was on the front page this morning CET. I note at the time of posting that it had gone.

This morning there was an article about how Ukraine and Russia were in peace talks mediated by Qatar. That has vanished from the front page. To give the FT some space, there is other stuff to report, but even so??

If you read the FT comments on the Ukraine articles you quickly see they are swamped by rabid pro-Ukraine trolls. However they make comments of the sort you might find in The Sun – almost inarticulate and clearly designed [by someone] to continue the Ra Ra support for the brave defenders of western civilisation against the baby eating orcs. Laughable really.

Now I switched from the DT some time back in the hope that the FT might actually provide some informed views and analysis. To be honest it is much worse than even the DT. It has been totally captured. Like The Times, The Guardian and The Economist. And that is just the UK press. I scan the US press and it is much the same, and the French press barely differs.

There was a time back in the 1980’s when striking miners in the UK used to read the FT as it provided an unbiased account of events - or so my Uni Sociology Lecturer told me [and btw I wish I had paid more attention but testosterone and arrogance got the better of me].

What started me on reading the Alt Media was not a deep-seated distrust of the MSM. I am a product of the system and did well out of it. I believed the BS. My moment of truth was the coverage of the Ukraine War, helped along by many years of the MSM vilifying anyone right of centre. However as a pretty good amateur military historian (and with some knowledge of Russia and a specialist geeky interest in casualty ratios) it was pretty obvious that the news about the war was anything but. We were fed propaganda from the start. And the narrative was being managed, and dissent suppressed.

Well I was and am pretty p*ssed off by these lies and false narratives. And I know I have been targeted by [someone] for speaking my mind. Well talk is cheap and that is all I have to spend. The fact of the matter is that I have many intelligent friends who have not yet realised WTF is going on here. They accept the MSM narrative. And so do 90% + of western voters.

The people promoting this narrative have thus far got away with it. And they will spin the on-coming debacle for the West in Ukraine and elsewhere into some sort of victory. And the reason I am unhappy is that I live in the West, thought it was the best chance for humanity, supported its values and genuinely would prefer it prevail against less enlightened regimes. The trouble is that The West has committed suicide via lunatic policies and self-delusion. The institutional lying is part and parcel of this, though I am not sure the establishment realises it is trading in fairy tales, or that it is intellectually and morally bankrupt.

I’m surprise to see you are still wasting your time with the Financial Timesl

Having lived in America since a young age, I can say to you. There is no racism like that of Americans towards Russians.

Without all this hatred it would have been another Vietnam with massive protests, were the truth of American involvement in the murder of Ukraine plainly seen.

Further, only Russia can save Ukraine now.

There are some spellcheck miscorrections in your post....

It’s called Blind hatred …. No wonder America is acting like the Blind Goliath

Another excellent analysis demonstrating the brutal cynicism of the western politicians and the tragic ignorance of its population. All those young lives sacrificed to the evil machinations of a handful of moral dwarves. What horror!

It's strange when Ukraine has lost only 15 soldiers, while Russia has lost 60,000,000 of its most elite units, that Ukraine is losing. The only possible explanation is that the demoralising effect of all those Russian agents who questioned these numbers while posing as normal Western citizens undermined Ukraine's natural victory - especially once they overwhelmed the Surivikin Line in just 5 days due to the power of the awesome Western equipment and NATO training, and were just outside Vladivostok a couple of weeks ago too.

Clearly, it must also be the stupendously terrifying DPRK troops, who grow to 20ft tall once they leave the DPRK and literally shit bullets - along with those Russian agents on social media, who will now be silenced, rounded up, and given 5 consecutive life sentences. Deservedly so, I might add.

If it wasn't for them, we could all have BELIEVED, and made it turn out well.

For those who can't spot sarcasm, this is an in-post heads up.

The Ukrainians are really bogged down tripping over all those dead Russian guys. That's the problem really with being too good of a fighting force.

For a sec in the beginning I was fooled to think that you simply replaced the numbers! But when I reached Vladivostok it was LOL 😂👍🏻

Well as per Christopher G. Cavolli the US general in charge of US forces in Europe paraphrasing "The Russian military has become much stronger and are a little perturbed with the West". Well considering the quote from a US official that stated "Every ten years are so the US needs to throw a crappy little country against the wall to show the world who is boss".

Well the Western losses in Ukraine may not be high when compared to Russian and Ukrainian losses..The issue is, with a bloodied battle hardened angry Russian military with a few monsters in the midst. A Russian MIC pumping out battle tested equipment and modern war fighting strategy and experience. The western moralizers in their attempt to spread "Democracy" and "freedom" may find throwing a crappy little country against the wall may be a little more expensive than what is expected.

This war has shown USA's and EU's true colors and the evil behind their so called "values " they claim to protect throughout their "rules based international order". Nothing will be the same again.

You are spot on Glenn in that truths about the ability of the US to win this proxy, which was was formerly denounced as “Russian propaganda” are now no longer surpressed. I also see that the messengers are no longer smeared except by the few sheep on social media who are so brainwashed they don’t even receive new signals from their puppet marss.

However…..I would not be so quick to assume that the reason for this is the US neocon puppet masters have given up.

Yes they are now getting down to the “last Ukrainian”. But I suspect that the next phase of the proxy war involves using European bodies (British Poles, French, German, Norwegians, Dutch, Danish) as the proxy army. Maybe South Koreans too.

Never underestimate the levels of depravity that prevail in DC,Langley and The Pentagon. These people lack a soul or any kind of a conscience, and Europeans are all too naive and unsuspecting. They swallow terns like “the west” and “NATO” and they really believe this is a partnership, when in fact it’s a manipulative and deeply exploitative one with “no limits” in terns of how much the US neocons are willing to use and squeeze “allies”.

The United States started this when they overthrew the legitimate government of Ukraine in 2014 because that government wanted nothing to do with the IMF. The citizens of the Donbas and Crimea voted to remain a part of Russia. The Russians are defending themselves against the rogue NATO forces doing the bidding of the dying U.S. empire. Russia has done nothing to harm the U.S. or its citizens except to refuse to be controlled or invaded by them.

Well done.

It is not Russia that has been bled, but us. We can't even take care of our hurricane victims.

Another aspect that has been bleeding us is all the worthless tax eaters and sinecuristas at think tanks that you wrote about in your book.

After the negotiation in China's civil war between the Nationalists and the Communists, the negotiation of the Korean War, and the negotiation of the Vietnam War, I hope the Russian leaders come to a solid conclusion that Negotiation with the Communists is useless. Judging from the behavior and tactics, today's West is the Communists. Negotiation for the Communists is only a tactic to take a breather until the next round.

Does it come as any surprise that what’s playing out is exactly what you and John Mearsheimer have been predicting?

For the same types of reasons, will it be any surprise that what I’m predicting will come true on the bigger scale?

And just as you and John offered up remedies which would have avoided catastrophic calamities for Ukraine, I’m offering up remedies by way of my “course” which could be used to avoid the catastrophic calamities we’re facing as a species.

When the stakes are so high, doesn’t it seem like people would want to listen to and take good advice?
