I don't understand Dr. Diesen's purpose in having interviews with the latest string of people. Their opinions are rather bland and predictable; they bring no new insights to the issues and nothing interesting to the discussion.
Why is it so difficult for the adults in the room to understand the following? (1) Russia requires a long-term structural solution instead of short-term cosmetic palliatives such as ceasefires, and (2) since 1997, Russia has had absolutely no reason to trust the West. Maybe there are no adults in the room... for western leaders to actually understand Russia's negotiating position, they would have to assume responsibility and admit to all their lies and provocations against Russia since 1997. Realistically, neither one is going to happen.
