Yes, free speech includes the right to offend and to be racist and sexist. Banning this opens the door, as you say, to banning everything big money doesn't like. We all need to maintain the right to offend. Bigots shouldn't be banned- they should be debated and made to look callous- not heros of censorship.

Before that they brought out laws and legislations to incriminate people who are racist and/or slandering, so that we will never be allowed to speak our own truths or able to do so. That is globally the case. At this moment the south african government are desperately trying to kill Afikaans as language where 100's of Afrikaans medium schools will be prohibited to use Afrikaans (the second most used language in south africa with its 11 ethnic groups) as language medium.. you call this language killi g in order to kill the Afrikaans culture as an example.

Excellent exposition on a process that further underlines Western hypocrisy. As US/Western hegemony continues to erode across multiple domains we can expect censorship to become increasingly intense.

Just as it does in any despotic regime. The dying beast thrashes more and more violently against the very thing that will ultimately bring its destruction.

What troubles me the most of living in Norway is that most people I know and meet are totally unaware of the western censorship and propaganda and those who are openly defend it.

The public space in Norway is getting increasingly toxic and dangerous and it’s far too late to oppose. Nazi-Germany 1934 is Norway 2024 and it’s getting worse.

That's how effective western propaganda is. Most people I know living in Europe think that we have freedom of speech.

Dare you mention, something that doesn't fit the narrative and they will call it misinformation.

Problem is that a huge chunk of the global citizens never even knew that the limited news they watch were half truths or half lies, meaning omitting crucial parts of truths indicate lies. They never had or have a clue still. You will never know what is omitted if you don't search for the whole truth by looking elsewhere than the normal google platforms. Part of it are part of society who expect the gov and media to only tell the truth and nothng but tbe truth. I am married to a genial husband who is a scientist, don't have time to explore the rabbit holes of lies and expect things to work the right way, that the government really cares for us and that medical pharma wants to cure us of diseases, that the judiciary is there to protect us . How then are they going to make money if we are healthy or if they keep us from being sick or getting sick. I know they call it the health department, but how DO they survive when everybody is healthy??? Many people don't have time to explore further, if they want to, and most don't want to, because they are told there are lies outside the mainstream media they should not believe.... they paid a huge price for their gullibility and still do most of them not even realising they put their believes in a false narrative..

Its because they are far too lax and they dont pay attention to what is going on under their own nose, for example the revolving door between the military (NATO) propaganda machine and their own supposedly free commercial press:

https://www.forsvaretsforum.no/forsvarets-forum-medier-pressemelding/stian-eisentrager-forlater-forsvarets-forum/343489

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forsvarets_forum

https://www.faktisk.no/ansatte

This kind of thing is going on in many countries and no one pays attention.

Aslo in the tech companies too. The censorship apparatus of every major tech company is riddled with people clearly sent out from the military PR and disinformation sector, to control and decide narratives in these "black box" algorithms, and to block the spread of any challenges to what the government wants.

On top of that the people in Scandinavia are some of the most intense users of "social media" in the world. Like 99 percent of them are addicted users of platforms owned by Meta, where not only can they be monitored, but they are individually fed customised content (again via black bock algorithms) that of course can and do influence what they think the world IS at all. What they see, what they dont see. And intellectually they live purely inside this controlled environment.

But you cannot have any kind of actual living democracy when the military apparatus is secretly deciding what goes into the pubic discourse, and what is fact. Only a sham of a democracy. pretence.

Sorry to hear of your YouTube banning, but I suppose it should no longer be surprising. You and your work first came to my attention when you interviewed on The Duran, and I have since read your recent excellent book "The Ukraine War and the Eurasian World Order." I have seen Alexander Mercouris of The Duran, who also posts on YouTube, tiptoeing around certain words and phrases to try to avoid getting banned. But if YouTube can get away with labeling commentary and analysis as professional and courteous as your own as "hate speech", I'd say the sky is the limit.

Actions like this are the reason I minimize my use of YouTube. I now view my preferred commentators on alternative platforms like Rumble whenever possible, and when I hear of something new I want to watch, I always search for it on Rumble before reluctantly turning to YouTube If I must.

Please keep posting on those alternative platforms, and glad you're here on Substack!

I am still in shock, feeling both saddened and alarmed, that you, Mr. Diesen, the mild-mannered academic, have been completely removed from YouTube.

We are truly moving towards an Orwelian future.

Yea. Just imagine how insecure they are right down to their bones to want to censor such a fellow. Perhaps it's a sign that we're winning, eh?

Excellent writing, Glenn. I always appreciate your and your guests’ perspectives.

I’ve said this for a while, but now I’m even more certain that Americans are the most propagandized people on earth. Sadly, possibly the dumbest as well (lack of critical thinking skill).

P.s.: I wonder if your recent piece on the NS2 was the final nail?

Anyway,

You are correct and Australian commentator Caitlin Johnstone agrees with you about Americans being the most propagandized people on earth. Critical thinking is no longer taught in schools. On the contrary, dumbed-down subject matter and "teaching to the test" have taken over the education system, or what remains of it. The censored mainstream media and the assistance of the education system in washing the young brains of American school kids work to reinforce the acceptance of censorship. This is why education is being privatized by charter schools and why organizations like NED are brainwashing foreign students so they will go back home to their native country filled with American BS.

I wonder how many of my fellow Americans will even admit to how total the censorship has become since 2016. You are correct, it started with Alex Jones and the things he is accused of are worse than what he actually said, but nobody cared. We (U.S.) are so divided now, both sides agree with censorship IF they think it helps their "team" which is laughable, since it is all of us against tyranny.

I enjoyed your channel and I figured they would remove you. Some other channels have obviously changed their "reporting" so they can continue to profit, these people should reconsider but I am sure they will not.

Censorship is a tool to keep a populous ignorant and easily controlled, as only weak information with no basic logic need protecting. The truth is the truth so it needs no protection.

Excellent analysis! Now someone has to lay out the principles and tools that can be used to fight back and to effectively counter the merciless censorship and digital oppression!

Do you think it could be achieved or the public has to wait the physical demise of the system?
