We elected Trump to end this craven foreign policy! It doesn't seem to matter who we elect. We have a kabooki democracy designed to soothe the masses while the elites steal and do whatever they want! Bless Iran for standing for the Palestinians! Palestine is occupied territory and so , sadly is America! #no place to hide

Trump’s main objective (perhaps only) is creation of ever-Greater Israel.

His “America First” was indeed his greatest deception

Alex, this didn’t age well at all.

1. US/UK attacked nuclear bases deep inside huge Russia — still no response yet ?!

2. Us genocide, now by starvation, of 2M Gazans is tremendously accelerating.

Can there be ANY doubt about what horror is Trump and US foreign policy by US uni-party?

Great discussion as always. I’ll say this though, I love Krainer and his thought processes, but his weakness for Trump I don’t get???

Alex, Glen, the oligarchy is not concerned with national interests. Instead, they utilise national identities as tools to enrich themselves and share power within their class-defined groups. They perceive themselves as nurturing a superior "cosmopolitan" identity (Nussbaum framed the contemporary version of the old concept in terms popular among globalists ). At the same time, they regard national institutions merely as a theatre for "democratic spectators" (as noted by Walter Lippmann). Stereotyped identities are "crystallised" by superior individuals - the "invisible governors" (Edward Bernays) and are used for manipulation aimed at affirming their power. For the "specialised class," national identity is seen as a weakness of the "bewildered herd," which they believe must be conditioned to accept the supposedly illusory notion of a "common good", "common interest" or the "commonwealth", in the still popular neocolonial vernacular. For them, being British or American is far less important than we might project about them.

They view ideology as a pretext to send naive individuals to war and to justify regime change operations. From their perspective, the value of national flags lies in generating profit and increasing power. The idea that the economy precedes ideology is in our time well recognized and highly regarded by the psychopaths in power, you are referring to, through the concept of homo economicus. Furthermore, in Nietzschean terms, practising religion is seen as a manifestation of slave morality—an attribute they disassociate from their self-assigned identity as the "superhuman". This is why pathocratic elites, commonly lacking empathy and moral values, are sometimes labelled as Satanists, and they occasionally take pleasure in projecting this caricatured identity themselves.

The only way these two Despots will go is escalation they are too arrogant to accept defeat humiliating or not, The Zionists are out of control and a real and present danger to World Peace Trump must tell Netanyahu to pull his horns in or he’s on his own, Whether this POTUS has the Balls to do this is debatable because no one can predict what a Despot Dictator will do, It’s in the Lap of the Gods.

it was not a surprise attack trump gave a clear message about 60 days. They want war all over in Europe & Middle East to protect the USA and make it a harbour of peace when the world is in flames. lets go against all wars. the true problem is, an attack on an other country is not legal in international law.. they do like Russia now whow, further destabilizing the international order, so it will be war all over.

You mean the GRAVEYARD OF THE ISLAMIC EMPIRE... The Iraqis beat Iran, remember ? The Iranians are just pretentious paper tigers. Maybe this will help them get rid of the Komeiny family.

The best analysis on the current situation I am aware of. Remarkable how many important points Alex covers, from the dilemma facing Trump in a declining empire, to how a nuclear exchange might unfold, to Putin’s 2007 Munich speech about speech, to the differing choices facing Europe and the U.S., to the role of the money system, inflation and the Weimar Republic, to Soros, Trump and the “no kings silliness. I just wish there were an easier way to transcribe some of these key takeaways. And thank you Glenn for your podcast. I stand in awe of you both.
