I challenge the assumption the US has "pulled back" from the war in Ukraine. Trump is trying to earn a bonus point toward his Nobel prize; in fact he's just modifying the financing. Western money for war is fungible so the real source is obscure (out of thin air), except inevitably it comes out of publicly available resources and can't be allowed to deplete the oligarchs' wealth. That's why they're trying to steal Russia's sovereign fund. Full US participation in NATO continues short of "boots ..." The real limitation is weapons supply – the arsenal is largely depleted and new production is slow. All other services (except for USAID) continue to be provided by the US through CIA intelligence operatives and Pentagon remote command structures. However, I suspect the Pentagon will start pulling back on many other fronts and diverting more resources toward Israel & Gulf Oil defense/offense.

I object against the careless use of "The Europeans wants this-or that". I am a European. I was never asked what I want. So, change the narrative. The European leaders want this-οr-that". That's more accurate and does justice to the gap beteen those leaders snd the people they suppose to lead.
