I had the great pleasure of speaking with Prof. John J. Mearsheimer and Alexander Mercouris about the war against Iran. The initial euphoria in Israel has been replaced with gloom, as the surprise attack failed to decapitate Iran. Iran has regrouped, and in a war of attrition, Israel faces a serious problem. The military power of Iran was underestimated, and Israel’s Iron Dome was overestimated. As more and more Iranian missiles hit their targets in Israel, there is growing pressure to intervene. Mearsheimer believes that Trump is having second thoughts and would like to put an end to the war, while the competing hypothesis is that Trump is merely taking his time to position American military assets for a large-scale attack on Iran.
America would even use nukes, such is their servitude to Zionist masters.
