I had a conversation with Professor of Economics Richard Wolff, a renowned critic of contemporary capitalism and a leading proponent of alternative economic models. We discussed the economic exhaustion and imperial overstretch by the US, which has now reached a critical point. The US has accumulated unsustainable debt and has excessive economic inequality, which has fuelled social fragmentation and political polarisation / political theatre. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is constructing a post-American international economic system.
