If I live to reach the same stage in life currently being enjoyed by Mr Freeman, I hope to be as reasonable, even-handed, objective, wise, well-informed and humane as he is. All that the war-mongers of the world need to do is to listen, and yet they don't.
Mr. Freeman is apparently a holdover from the time when any semblance of diplomacy existed in the US. Plus, my guess is that, having left the State Department, he has become even more objective in his assessments.

Iran doesn't need a nuclear test for the "gun type" criticality based U235 nuclear bomb. The detonation mechanism (~gun) can be tested with U238. No nuclear explosion will occur. Then mount a ballistic missile with metallic U235 in the gun detonation mechanism, perhaps first add a berylium reflector to the gun to increase the neutron flux. This will give iran a nuclear weapon of considerable power.
