All of you (John, Alexander and Glenn) are exactly correct in your analysis.

It’s a shame that the top political leaders don’t listen to your good advice.

Managing the competition so that it doesn’t spill over into conflict should be our political leader’s top priority.

I smell a big false flag event coming. All of the media hype about the Atacms, Russia's big response, emabassy evacuations. Sulivan calling for lowering the draft age. They have to keep this war going somehow. Same old MO.

I don't think there is a strategic advantage for the Russians for a big attack in Kiev. Strategic move should come in West Asia.

I disagree with Mearsheimer's take on China. The United States is entirely responsible for any disturbance in China. And I speak as an American.

"putting tariffs and all these uh very powerful industrial policies I actually think this is a good idea always been a big fan of the American system I think uh I think um uh some economic nationalism is well overdue" Yes, indeed sir.

I think you guys complicated things too much.

This will end when one side (The West) or the other (The Rest) capitulates. One side is a declining hegemony that wants to preserve its dominance, the other has been on the receiving end of this hegemony for decades (if not centuries) - and so existential.

I’m betting on the ascendant side fighting for their future security and sovereign existence.

This is one side of the coin. The other side is that China is becoming more aggressive and states it openly.

The situation does not need moral judgements. It is simply a Thucydides trap.

China is responding to the aggression of the United States, which has military bases surrounding China just as it has military bases surrounding Russia. The United States is the aggressor in both cases. China is more advanced than the U.S. technologically and economically. China believes in trade and mutual collaboration to lift poor countries out of poverty. I support BRICS and also the Belt and Road project. China builds. The U.S. destroys.
